Purpose

You can choose the direct publication of planning results if you want to transfer data that has been created or changed in SAP APO directly to SAP R/3. This is often the case with the results of Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PP/DS). Direct publication is the default setting in PP/DS Customizing.

Process Flow

In comparison to periodic publication, change pointers are not written for the direct publication of planning results. The data changes are not saved, they are sent directly to SAP R/3 (see figure below).
