Unit of Measure Groups
Unit of measure groups (UoM groups) are groups of one or more units of measure that you either allow as units of measure for a product or exclude from the set of possible UoMs for the product. You can assign UoM groups for the products of both the deliverying and receiving locations.
You assign the UoM group in the master data, to a combination of product and target or destination location:
The unit of measure group for the source location contains the units of measure that the source location delivers, such as pallets and boxes if a vendor only ships a product in pallets and boxes.
The unit of measure group that you assign to the destination location defines the units of measure that can be sent to the destination location. For example, you can assign the unit of measure group so that shops in the center of town are not sent any pallets.
Note
For more information, see Determination of Units of Measure for Rounding or Ordering.
You can use a BAdI to implement your own custom logic as to which unit of measures you want SAP F&R to use for RQO, and another BAdI to implement a custom check of whether the rounding unit agrees with the allowed order unit. For more information, see the Implementation Guide (IMG) under
BAdI: Check Unit of Measure Group

)
BAdI: Rounded Unit for Ordering
(/FRE/FU_RQO_BADI002
)
You can import unit of measure groups. For more information, see Inbound Interface for Unit of Measure Groups.
You can also set an exception flag
. If you set the indicator, you can assign all units of measure defined for the product to the product, except for those defined in the unit of measure group.
To maintain rounding profiles, go to the SAP Easy Access screen and choose .
Example 1
Unit of measure group 001
Unit of measures PC, BOX, PAL
Exclusion indicator: Not set
The only units of measure allowed in this example are piece, box, and pallet.
Example 2
Unit of measure group 002
Unit of measures BOX, PAL
Exclusion indicator
: Set
All units of measure are allowed in this example, except box and pallet.
