You have defined the following settings in the view Virus Scan Profile:
The indicator Evaluate profile configuration parameters is set in the virus scan profile.
You have defined the profile configuration parameters.
You have entered MIME types.
The virus scan profile evaluates the data from the sections Profile Configuration Parameters and MIME Types only once in a chain of multiple virus scan profiles. This is the case if virus scan profiles use reference profiles, or if you have inserted virus scan profiles as steps in other virus scan profiles.
You can also use this logic, if you want to set multiple virus scan profiles to use the same MIME type list.
To do this, set the Evaluate profile configuration parameters indicator only in the virus scan profile in which the MIME types are entered. In this case, this is the reference profile.
In the virus scan profiles that link to the reference profile, you must not set the indicator Evaluate profile configuration parameters.
There are two applications, A and B, relevant for the virus scan. The applications are to perform a particular MIME type check and MIME types are entered for these applications. To simplify the configuration, you had set virus scan profiles A and B to use reference profile R. The entire technical virus scan infrastructure is set up in reference profile R (step, scanner groups, scanner-specific configuration parameters).
However, you want to use the list of MIME types from virus scan profiles A and B, although virus scan profile R contains its own MIME types, and the indicator Evaluate profile configuration parameters is set in virus scan profile R. In this case, set the Evaluate profile configuration parameters indicator in virus scan profiles A and B. The evaluation logic gives precedence to virus scan profiles A and B, and therefore the MIME type definitions from these profiles are used.
