Personalizing Web Dynpro ApplicationsLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

Each Web Dynpro application can be personalized provided this function has been explicitly activated.

Procedure

Hide UI Element

  • To hide a UI element, open the context menu for the relevant UI element, and choose Hide <UI Element Name>.

Show UI Element Again

  • If you want to make the UI element visible again, open the context menu on the page and choose Invisible Elements. This entry is only available in the context menu once you have hidden UI elements. All hidden elements are displayed to you and then you can select the one you want to make visible again.

Change the Table Format

You can make the following additional settings for tables:

  • You can specify the number of visible rows. If the number is higher than the number of data records, empty rows are displayed.

  • You can decide if horizontal scrolling is enabled.

Change Order of Table Columns

  • To change the order of the columns of a table, move the column with drag and drop.

These changes are saved in personalization and this column order will be displayed when you restart the application. You can reset the column order by choosing Restore Original Order in the context menu.

  • Alternatively, you can open the personalization dialog box in the table by choosing Start of the navigation path User Settings Next navigation step More... End of the navigation path from the context menu, and under Resort Grouped Columns change the visible columns and their order.

Set Default Values

The InputField and TextEdit UI elements can be assigned a default value. Open the context menu of the UI element and choose Use Current Value as Default. Once a value has been set, this can be reset with Discard Default Value.

Users can save multiple values using function Personal Value List of the input help.

Activate Access Key

The access key enables you to set the focus on a UI element using the keyboard. With the button combination ALT+ first letter of the UI element (or the related label), you can go to a UI element directly and trigger an action using the keyboard. From the context menu and Access Key Activated you can activate and deactivate this function for individual UI elements.

In section Options you can set the Keys Visible checkbox, provided you have authorization.
