Consistency Checks for Interchangeability Groups You use consistency checks to determine any data inconsistencies which may arise if data is saved in different places in the system (data redundancy).
You can perform consistency checks on the constituent products and locations of the interchangeability group during group creation. For example, you can perform a consistency check to make sure that all the products in a chain have the same unit of measure.
You can also add your own consistency checks and activate or deactivate the standard checks that are provided with the application.
The consistency check is also carried out by the system when you save the group.
Caution
If you do not set up any consistency checks, you run the risk of producing inconsistent interchangeability groups. For example, if a predecessor and successor product have completely different units of measure, the quantities will be incorrect when requirements are transferred from one to the other.
Recommendation
SAP strongly recommends that you maintain validations to ensure data consistency.
You have maintained the following IMG activities in Customizing for :
Maintain Field Catalog
Maintain Validation
Maintain Consistency Profiles and Assign Validations
Assign Consistency Profiles and Assign Field Catalog to Group Type
For more details on the individual activities, see the IMG documentation.
You have created an interchangeability group as described in Creating an Interchangeability Group .
Error log
Displays all the errors, warnings, and other related information discovered during the consistency check.
Analysis log
Displays the consistency profile along with the associated validations and indicates whether or not these validations were successful. It also displays the field catalog fields for which the checks were made and whether or not the stated conditions were met. It shows the resulting errors, warnings, and other information.
