
You can group together different search object connectors to search categories. Search categories allow users to narrow down their search by searching, for example, only in the "Business Partners" category. You can assign both search object connector models and search object connectors to specific search categories. By default, a search object connector inherits the categories from its model.
You can create search categories and delete search categories both in the modeler when creating models and also in the administration cockpit.
Creating Search Categories
Launch the administration cockpit.
In the Details area, choose the Categories tab.
Choose Manage Categories .
Choose Create Category/Relation .
Scroll to the end of the list and enter a name for the new category, then press Enter .
In customer systems, this name must start with a Y or a Z .
You can build a hierarchy by grouping categories below another category. The individual subcategories are called relations.
Assigning Search Object Connectors to a Category
Launch the administration cockpit.
Choose the search object connector that you want to assign to a category.
In the Details area, choose the Categories tab.
Select the relevant category from the list and choose Add .
Note that new category assignments are not passed on to the respective model.
Deleting the Category Assignment for Search Object Connectors
Launch the administration cockpit.
Choose the search object connector that you want to remove from a category assignment.
In the Details area, choose the Categories tab.
Select the category to be removed from the list and choose Remove .
Note that this category is removed only from the search object connector, not from the respective model.
Deleting Search Categories or Relations
Launch the administration cockpit.
In the Details area, choose the Categories tab.
Choose Manage Categories .
Select a category or relation and choose Delete Category or Delete Relation .
