Determination of Activities with the Activity Matrix

Use

You must specify that an activity matrix is to be created during planning if you wish to post production activities in the production backflush in APO.

Integration

When you backflush production activities for an activity, the system copies all the activities needed for this order from the activity matrix, along with their duration and production resource . This data is the basis for determining the production activities.

Prerequisites

You have entered the control data for the product that is to be planned and the set the indicator Create Activity Matrix .

Features

During planning, the system first creates the characteristic value matrix and the component variant matrix. The order data is taken from these two matrices and copied into the columns of the activity matrix . The system explodes the process structure to determine the activities and copies them into the rows of the matrix. The system uses the components, which it selected for an order in the component variant matrix, to determine whether an activity is required for the order or not. The system then selects the valid mode and inserts an X in the matrix. See also: Exploding a Line Routing for Line Balancing .

You can use the Display Matrix function to check the activity matrix generated by the system during planning.
