Procedure

To create, copy, and delete models and planning versions, on the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Start of the navigation path Advanced Planning and Optimization Next navigation step Master Data Next navigation step Planning Version Management Next navigation step Model and Version Management End of the navigation path.

The following table collects all the functions that are available in Model and Version Management, the way in which you can access these functions, and important information about them:

You assign master data such as location, product, or resource to the model you have created either in the Supply Chain Engineer or through master data maintenance.

Copy Model/Planning Version

In the left-hand part of the screen, select the model or planning version you want to copy, and choose Start of the navigation path Copy Model/Planning Version Next navigation step Model/Planning Version. End of the navigation path

To perform the copying of the planning version with parallel processing and thus significantly improve performance in the case of large data volumes, you can use the Copy Planning Version (/SAPAPO/VERCOP) transaction. The transaction allows you to perform partial planning version copy, based on the criteria you specify. For more information, see Copy Planning Version.

Copy Model with Planning Versions

In the left-hand part of the screen, select the model and the associated planning versions you want to copy, and choose Start of the navigation path Copy Model/Planning Version Next navigation step Model with Versions. End of the navigation path

Delete Model/Planning Version

In the left-hand part of the screen, select the model or planning version you want to delete, and choose Delete Model/Planning Version.

Deletion is only possible if you have the authorization to delete.

When you delete a model, all planning versions of the model are also deleted.

To use the partial planning version copy function, you must activate the business function SCM-APO, Version Simulation (SCM_APO_VERSION_SIM). For more information, see SCM-APO, Version Simulation.

If you have activated the business function SCM-APO, Version Simulation (SCM_APO_VERSION_SIM), and you want to run the transaction in background processing mode, make sure that you enter the report /SAPAPO/VERSION_COPY_RESTR. The report /SAPAPO/VERSION_COPY_PAR only works if the business function is inactive.

You can carry out the copying and deletion of models and planning versions either in the foreground or in the background, as follows:

  • If you are copying in the foreground, the system displays the copy log and adds the copies in the left-hand area of the screen.

  • If you are copying or deleting in the background, you receive an e-mail when the copying or deletion process is completed.
