ASN Alerts

An ASN alert indicates that an exception situation has occurred in connection with an advanced shipping notification (ASN). To generate an ASN alert, the following options are available, depending on the alert type:

The Post Processing Framework (PPF) generates the alert using a PPF action by default. System administration can deactivate the PPF action (action profile /SCA/BOL_DELIVERY).
SAP Supply Network Collaboration (SAP SNC) generates the alert in the background taking into account the PPF configuration.

Note
If you have set the ASN_PPF_EXEC validation check to inactive, so that certain alerts are generated in the background, you can deactivate the generation of each alert type individually. To do so, select the Inactive checkbox for the alert in the relevant PPF action profile.

System administration regularly executes a special report in the SAP SNC system.
SAP SNC generates the alert during validation of the ASN.
SAP SNC creates the alert automatically upon certain events.

The following table contains the alert types for advanced shipping notifications (ASNs):

Overdue ASN	31	Report	SAP SNC system administration generates the ASN alerts with the Generate Alerts for Overdue and Unassigned ASNs (/SCA/ASN_PASTDUE_ALERTWRITE) report. For more information, see Generation of Alerts for Overdue and Unassigned ASNs.
Goods Receipt Quantity Different from ASN Quantity	32	PPF or background	The goods receipt quantity for an item in the ASN differs from the requested item quantity in the ASN (PPF action /SCA/BOL_DLV_GRQUAN_CHECK).
Change of Already Published ASN	7066	Automatically	An ASN alert of this type refers to an ASN that has the Published status: The ASN has been changed by the supplier.
Cumulative Quantity Imbalance	7803	PPF or background	This alert type is only relevant for service parts management (see below). The quantity that the supplier (from his or her viewpoint) has already sent to the customer (the supplier cumulative quantity) differs from the quantity that the customer regards as received or in transit in the customer system. SAP SNC generates the alert when an ASN arrives (PPF action /SCA/BOL_DLV_CUM_IMB_CHECK). For this alert type, SAP SNC evaluates the supplier cumulative quantity, the customer cumulative quantity, and the in-transit quantity that the ASN has transferred to SAP SNC. If the customer has configured in the customer back-end system (SAP ERP with activated service parts management) for the scheduling agreement that he or she wants to be synchronized with the supplier with regard to the cumulative delivered quantity, SAP SNC compares the supplier cumulative quantity with the cumulative delivered quantity of the customer. (The in-transit quantity in the ASN is zero.) If the customer and the supplier synchronize with regard to the cumulative received quantity, SAP SNC compares the supplier cumulative quantity with the sum of the cumulative received quantity and the in-transit quantity. The in-transit quantity covers all open quantities of the ASN in the customer back-end system.
Shipped Quantity Discrepancy	7804	PPF or background	This alert type is only relevant for service parts management (see below). The quantity of an ASN item with the Goods Receipt Complete status differs from the quantity that the customer has actually received (PPF action /SCA/BOL_DLV_CUM_SHIP_DISC_CHK).
Accuracy (ASN)	7810	External validation	This alert type is only relevant for service parts management (see below). The external validation (see External Validation) has determined an exception and SAP SNC has mapped this exception to this alert type when the ASN arrived.
SA Release: ASN Quantity Lower Than Requested	7437	Automatically	An ASN alert of this type refers to a particular request schedule line of the current scheduling agreement release: The (partial) ASN item quantity that is assigned to the request schedule line does not suffice to cover the open quantity of the request schedule line. (The open quantity of the request schedule line is the quantity that is not covered by earlier ASNs.)
SA Release: ASN Quantity Higher Than Requested	7438	Automatically	An ASN alert of this type refers to a particular request schedule line of the current scheduling agreement release: The (partial) ASN item quantity that is assigned to the request schedule line exceeds the open quantity of the request schedule line. (The open quantity of the request schedule line is the quantity that is not covered by earlier ASNs.)
SA Release: ASN Delivery Date/Time Earlier Than Requested	7439	Automatically	An ASN alert of this type refers to a particular request schedule line of the current scheduling agreement release: The delivery date/time of the ASN lies before the delivery date time of the request schedule line.
SA Release: ASN Delivery Date/Time Later Than Requested	7440	Automatically	An ASN alert of this type refers to a particular request schedule line of the current scheduling agreement release: The delivery date/time of the ASN lies after the delivery date time of the request schedule line.
SA Release: ASN Quantity Lower Than Confirmed	7441	Automatically	An ASN alert of this type refers to a particular confirmation schedule line of the current scheduling agreement release: The (partial) ASN item quantity that is assigned to the confirmation schedule line does not suffice to cover the open quantity of the confirmation schedule line. (The open quantity of the confirmation schedule line is the quantity that is not covered by earlier ASNs.)
SA Release: ASN Quantity Higher Than Confirmed	7442	Automatically	An ASN alert of this type refers to a particular confirmation schedule line of the current scheduling agreement release: The (partial) ASN item quantity that is assigned to the confirmation schedule line exceeds the open quantity of the confirmation schedule line. (The open quantity of the confirmation schedule line is the quantity that is not covered by earlier ASNs.)
SA Release: ASN Delivery Date/Time Earlier Than Confirmed	7443	Automatically	An ASN alert of this type refers to a particular confirmation schedule line of the current scheduling agreement release: The delivery date/time of the ASN lies before the delivery date time of the confirmation schedule line.
SA Release: ASN Delivery Date/Time Later Than Confirmed	7444	Automatically	An ASN alert of this type refers to a particular confirmation schedule line of the current scheduling agreement release: The delivery date/time of the ASN lies after the delivery date time of the confirmation schedule line.
New Attachment Added to Advanced Shipping Notification	7067	Automatically	A new attachment has been added to the advanced shipping notification, using the attachment handling functionality of SAP SNC (without Collaboration Folders).

The ID column contains the alert type ID. The Source column indicates how an alert is generated.

ASN Alert Types 7437 to 7444 for Release Processing

SAP SNC creates these alert types automatically upon ASN publication or receipt of a new scheduling agreement release. For more information, see Generation of Alerts for Non-Matching ASNs in Release Processing.

To use the alert types 7437 to 7444, you must activate the business function Supply Network Collaboration 1 (SCM_SNC_GEN_1).

ASN Alert Types for Service Parts Management

The alert types 7803, 7804, and 7810 are only relevant for the shortage analysis of Service Parts Planning (SCM-APO-SPP) in SAP Advanced Planning and Optimization (SAP APO). You can display the alerts in the shortage analysis monitor.
