Preparing Portal Themes for Flex ControlsLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

For Visual Composer applications that are deployed to Adobe Flex runtime, you can define the look-and-feel of Flex controls within a selected portal theme.

Note

All default themes supplied with the portal include a list of default values for controls used in Visual Composer models. However, the set of default values is defined for the SAP Tradeshow theme only and is used as is in all portal themes. This function is therefore most useful for defining values for the controls within a customer's own (non-portal default) theme.

Prerequisites

You have System Administrator rights to the portal to which the models are deployed.

Procedure

In the portal:

  1. Choose Start of the navigation path System Administration Next navigation step Portal Display Next navigation step Theme Editor End of the navigation path.

  2. In the Theme Editor, choose the theme or template that you want to customize for Flex runtime.

  3. Scroll down to the Visual Composer header and click Flex Runtime Controls beneath it. The list of Flex controls used in Visual Composer is displayed.

  4. Edit each parameter that is relevant to the application(s) that you are modeling.

For more information, see the following topics in the portal Administration Guide :

In Visual Composer:

In the Compiler tab of the Start of the navigation path Tools Next navigation step Options End of the navigation path dialog box, check the option Enable styling of Flex controls in portal themes . Applications modeled with this option checked and deployed to Flex will apply the portal theme modified for Visual Composer.

Result

At runtime, the iViews deployed to Flash runtime apply the customized portal theme to the models, rather than using the colors defined by Visual Composer for the different Flex controls.
