  Assigning Production Resources Automatically

Use

The function for automatic assignment enables you to maintain line balance relationships quickly between a production resource and the line elements in a line structure.

You cannot use this function if you wish to assign different production resources.

Prerequisites

  • You have loaded the line balance in the navigation area and opened the complete line structure by choosing the Expand function button.

  • Alternatively, you have loaded the line structure in the navigation area and created a filter with the line balance.

Procedure

  1. Double-click a line element from the line structure in the navigation area.

    The system displays the header data and the tab pages for the selected line element on the right-hand side of the screen.

  2. Choose the Prod. Resources tab page.

    The system displays the tab page for maintaining data.

  3. Select the Automatic Assignment function button.

    The Automatic Assignment of Production Resources dialog box appears .

  4. Enter the required line network or line in the Structure to be Exploded field. In the Types to be Assigned field, enter Line Segment when you wish to assign production resources to activities on the level of line segments, or Work Area when you wish to assign them on the level of work areas.

  5. Enter the name of the production resource you wish to assign in the Name field.

    The system displays the number of production resources.

  6. Choose the Assign function button.

Result

You have automatically assigned the required production resource to all the line elements of the specified type.
