 Creating a Planning Job

Procedure

  1. From the SAP Easy Access menu, choose Start of the navigation path Demand Planning Next navigation step Planning Next navigation step Demand Planning in the Background → Create Demand Planning in the Background End of the navigation path .

  2. Enter a name and a short description for the planning job.

  3. Choose Start of the navigation path Planning job Next navigation step Execute End of the navigation path .

  4. The inital Create Planning Job screen appears.

  5. Enter the planning book and the data view you specified in the activity, as well as the name of the planning version for which you want to run the job.

  6. Choose Start of the navigation path Planning job Next navigation step Execute End of the navigation path .

  7. The second Create Planning Job screen appears.

  8. Enter the activity you want to carry out in this job.

  9. Specify whether the system should generate a job log.

One

If you want to use just one selection, set this indicator. In the field beside it, choose the selection ID using F4 Help. To display it, use the Display button.

Several

If you want to use more than one selection, set this indicator. Use the Select detail button to choose the selection IDs. The system carries out the job for all of the nodes in the chosen selections.

Select all

If you want to process data for all the plannable characteristic value combinations in the tree structure, set this indicator.

Aggregation level

Define the aggregation level as follows:

1. Click on Aggregation level.

2. Select the characteristic which, in your planning area, represents products.

3. If your planning area contains a characteristic that represents locations, select also this characteristic.

4. Choose Enter.

The planning level at which the mass processing job is executed is determined by the aggregation level.

  3. The system determines which characteristics are defined as the aggregation level. For example, if you define Product and Location as your aggregation level, the system transfers data for:
