On-Time Delivery
You, the customer, can you use this rating criterion to rate the performance of the supplier on their ability to deliver or ship requested quantities according to the dates requested in your purchase order (PO) or scheduling agreement (SA) release. In the on-time delivery rating criterion, SAP SNC classifies quantities in the following categories:
On-Time
If the supplier delivers or ships the requested quantities according to the date requested, SAP SNC considers the advanced scheduling notification (ASN) item as on-time.
Early
If the supplier delivers or ships the requested quantities before the date requested by the customer, SAP SNC considers the quantities as early.
Late
If the supplier delivers or ships the requested quantities after the date requested by the customer, SAP SNC considers the quantities as late.
Overdeliverred (Over)
If the supplier delivers or ships quantities that were not requested by the customer within the period of analysis, SAP SNC considers the quantities of the ASN item as overdeliverred.
Overdue
If the supplier does not send an ASN for the requested quantities within the period of analysis, SAP SNC considers the request schedule line (SL) in the PO or SA as overdue.
To classify the quantities, SAP SNC runs two assignment phases that assign quantities from the ASN items to quantities from the request SLs. SAP SNC uses a different time window for each assignment phase to classify the quantities. In the first assignment phase, SAP SNC determines which quantities are on time. To determine on-time quantities, SAP SNC assign the quantities from request SLs to the quantities from ASN items by taking into consideration the time window for on-time quantities. After SAP SNC has determined all on-time quantities, it runs its second assignment phase based on a second time window that determines if the remaining quantities from are early or late, or overdeliverred or overdue. For more information, see Example.

To score the performance of the supplier, SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse uses the following calculations:
Calculating on-time deliveries
On-time delivery = on-time quantities / (early quantities + over quantities + on-time quantities + late quantities)
Calculating early deliveries
Early delivery = early quantities / (early quantities + over quantities + on-time quantities + late quantities)
Calculating over deliveries
Over delivery = over quantities / (early quantities + over quantities + on-time quantities + late quantities)
Calculating overdue deliveries
Overdue delivery = overdue quantities / (overdue quantities + early quantities + on-time quantities + late quantities)
You want to determine if your supplier has delivered the requested quantity on time. You have set up the following time windows:
A time window of - 1 day and + 2 days for the first assignment phase to determine which quantities are on time
A time window +/- 5 days for the second assignment phase to determine which quantities are early or late, or overdeliverred or overdue
Table 1 shows the quantities of four request SLs from the customer’s PO or SA release item as well as the quantities from several ASN items that the supplier has created to fulfill the customer’s request.

SAP SNC starts its first assignment phase by matching those request SL quantities that can be matched equally with the ASN items that are within the time window for the first assignment phase. In Figure 1 equal assignments are possible for the request SLs and ASN items dated 15.11.2010 and 21.11.2011. To assign the quantities of the other request SLs to quantities of the ASN items, SAP SNC splits quantities in the request SL dated 10.11.2010 and the ASN item dated 27.11.2010. After the split, SAP SNC is able to make two more assignments between request SLs and ASN items. Figure 1 shows the assignments that SAP SNC makes to determine which quantities are on time. The black lines represent the assignments. The green circles show the remaining quantities.

Figure 1
In example 1, after the first assignment phase quantities still remain that SAP SNC cannot assign. Despite the remaining quantities being equal to each other, SAP SNC cannot assign them to each other as they lie outside of the time window defined for the second assignment phase. Therefore, SAP SNC classifies these quantities as overdeliverred (for the remaining quantity from the ASN item dated 10.11.2010) and overdue (for the remaining quantity from the request SL dated 27.11.2010). Table 2 shows the results of the supplier performance measurement.

SAP SNC starts its first assignment phase by matching those request SL quantities that can be matched equally with the ASN items that are within the time window for the first assignment phase. In example 2, equal assignments are not possible for any of the request SLs and ASN items. Therefore, to assign the quantities of the request SLs to quantities of the ASN items SAP SNC splits quantities in the request SLs dated 10.11.2010 and 20.11.2010 and in the ASN item dated 12.11.2010. After the split, SAP SNC is able to make assignments for those quantities that are within the time window defined. Figure Phase 1 shows the assignments that SAP SNC makes that determine which quantities are on time. The black lines represent the assignments. The quantities that remain are not within the time window defined to determine on-time quantities.

Phase 1
After the first assignment phase, SAP SNC runs the second assignment phase to classify the remaining quantities as early or late, or overdeliverred or overdue. SAP SNC makes assignments for the remaining quantities (valid assignment are shown with the green lines in figure Phase 2) that are within the time window defined for the second assignment phase. These assignments determine if the quantities are early or late. SAP SNC also classifies the remaining quantities that cannot be assigned in the second assignment phase, as they are outside of the time window, as overdue or overdeliverred (shown with orange circles in figure Phase 2).
