Editing the Additional Properties

Use this procedure when you want to set or change the additional properties of an application component or an enterprise bean. They will be collectively called entity for the purpose of this documentation.

Select an entity from the tree in the J2EE Components pane.

1. Choose the Additionaltab.
2. Enter a name in the Display Name field. This name will be used by the visual tools to denote the entity.
   Caution

   Do not use the following special symbols: slash (/), double backslash (\\), double quotation ("), colon (:), asterisk(*), question mark (?), backslash (\), greater than sign (>), less than sign (<) and vertical slash (|). They will be replaced by a tilde (~).

3. The Callback Handler field is available only for the application client archives. You should enter the name of the callback handler class that is provided by the developer of the application client.
4. Enter a location for a small or large icon in the Small Icon or Large Icon fields. This icon will be used by the visual tools to mark the entity. The small icon should be 16x16 pixels and the large icon should be 32x32 pixels. The icon should be in GIF or JPEG format.
   Note

   The file name is the relative path to the file in the respective archive file.

5. If you want to provide these settings with the Deploy Tool for this specific entity, choose the Set Default button.
6. You can also enter a descriptive text about the bean in the Description for <entity> field.
