
The Session Manager is responsible for the lifecycle of user sessions and also provides failover capabilities. By configuring its properties, you can enable or disable session failover for a particular application, activate session failover centrally, define where to store sessions (shared memory, file system, database) and when to persist them, and so on.
Start the Config Tool by double-clicking the configtool script file from SAP_install_dir>/<system_name>/<instance_name>/j2ee/configtool directory.

From the list of properties, select the property you want to modify.
In the Custom value field, set the required value.
To apply the new value, choose Set Custom Value .
To save the changes, choose .
For the changes to take effect, restart the cluster.
