Adding Objects as a CopyLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

You can add a content object to another object as a copy. In contrast to delta links, this means that the copied object no longer has a reference to the object from which it was copied.

Features

The following objects can be added to roles and worksets as a copy:

  • Roles (can only be added to roles)

  • Worksets

  • Pages

  • iViews

  • Page and iView templates

Activities
  1. Open the role or workset in the respective editor.

  2. Select the folder in the hierarchy of the role or workset to which you want to add an object.

  3. In the tree structure of the Portal Catalog, right-click the object that you want to add to the role or workset and choose Start of the navigation path Add <Object> to Role/Workset Next navigation step Copy End of the navigation path.

    The object is added to the role or workset as a copy.

    Caution

    You can only see whether an object was added as a copy or as a delta link in the properties of the linked object. Copies only have the property PCD Location that displays the ID of the child object that was added as a copy. Delta links also have the property Delta Link Target .
