This procedure enables you to create a new connection entry to log on to the J2EE Engine under a different identity from the default one, or to log on using a different transport layer for your account.
The Connection dialog appears. If it does not appear, then choose Connect → Login from the menu path.
The dialog for creating a new connection entry appears.
If you know the P4 connection port of the dispatcher you want to connect to, you can choose the direct connection.

To use the SSL or HTTPS layer, you must have the Key Storage service and SSL Provider service running. To use HTTP Tunneling you must also have the HTTP Tunneling service started. If one of these services is stopped, select it and choose Start Service.
We recommend that you use the SSL connection, otherwise there is a security risk as the passwords are in plain text format by default.

The name of the new connection entry is displayed in the logon dialog. Select it from the list and choose Connect to log on to the J2EE Engine.
