Prerequisites

You are familiar with the specified tools and are able to interpret the values they provide.

Process Flow

With the Database Monitor (transaction DB02), you can check the size of database tables and determine their growth behavior in the past.

The transaction provides important database-specific indicators. The presentation of the Database Monitor depends on the database system you are using. For Oracle, for example, the number of free tablespaces or the size and growth of the individual tables and indexes is shown.

In addition to the Database Monitor, you can also use SAPDBA and the Performance Monitor (transaction ST04). These tools provide you with additional indicators that can help you make decisions concerning data archiving.

Result

You have recognized and identified the fastest growing database tables in your system.
