With this InfoSource, you can transfer material stocks from an SAP R/3 system to SAP BW. The InfoSource allows you to set up stocks for stock InfoCubes. To do this, use the Setup Opening Stock mode in the InfoPackage (do not use the Full Update) mode.
For a simple transfer of current material stocks to an InfoCube that contains only cumulative values, use the Full Update mode. Here, you transfer the complete current material stock for a calendar day (“Snapshots”). In this case, note the aggregation behavior with regard to the selected time characteristic.
The structure corresponds to the structure of the InfoSource Material Movements (as of 2.0B) (2LIS_03_BF).
The corresponding DataSource from the OLTP system contains additional fields for which there is no InfoObject in the InfoSource. If you require information from these fields, enhance the InfoSource with additional InfoObjects and assign these to the corresponding fields from the DataSource in the transfer rules after you have transferred these from the source system.
The InfoSource should be used for extraction from SAP R/3 systems as of SAP BW 3.1 Content as an alternative to the previous InfoSource for setting up stocks, Transfer BW: Stock (2LIS_40_S278). Parallel use is not possible.
The DataSource 2LIS_03_BX is available as of SAP R/3 Plug-In 2002.2 and is set up with the Report BW: Initialization of Opening Stocks in Transfer Structure (RMCBINIT_BW). For more information, refer to the Implementation Guide of the source system under
Recommendation
The basic difference compared with the previous InfoSource 2LIS_40_S278 is the additional, already existing indicator Valuation of Special Stock (0INDSPECSTK). The associated source field in SAP R/3 is KZBWS. The indicator enables you to make detailed stock evaluations in BW, e.g. in particular, quantity statements regarding valuated stocks. The InfoSource 2LIS_03_BF already contains this InfoObject.
It is therefore recommended that you replace the current stock scenario, which has the InfoSources 2LIS_40_S278 and 2LIS_03_BF, with the combination 2LIS_03_BX and 2LIS_03_BF.
