Customer-Defined Fields

In BW you can also use the information in certain customer-defined fields. These fields can be transferred into InfoSources like other fields. The fields are customer-defined master data fields of:

Cost centers
Activity types
Business processes
Internal orders

Prerequisites

R/3

The customer-defined field has been defined in the R/3 source system by adding it to the customer include in the master data table.

The field has been added to the corresponding DataSource.

A suitable InfoObject was created for the field.

This InfoObject has been defined as a navigation attribute for one of the following characteristics:

Object	Master data item (characteristic)
Cost center	0COSTCENTER
Activity type	0ACTTYPE
Business process	0ABCPROCESS
Internal order	0COORDER

The InfoObject for the customer field has been added to the communication structure for the InfoSource of the master data item.

The field has been transferred from the DataSource into the transfer structure of the master data InfoSource. The suitable InfoObject has been assigned to this field in the transfer rules.

Definition of Customer Fields in R/3:

You can add additional fields to master records of business processes, cost centers, and activity types. Maintenance of the added fields is possible on a special tab in the individual processing mode of the master data. These additional fields can be used in selection variants to select master data for deletion and for list display.
