Determining the Validity Period of an Order

Use

The system determines the validity period of an order when it explodes the iPPE process structure, the production process model (PPM) of the PP/DS runtime object or (in the case of external procurement) when evaluating the associated transportation lanes. When determining the validity period, the system considers the validity periods of the iPPE structures, the components, and the activities for an order, which was created based on an iPPE process structure. For an order based on a production process model, the system considers the validity periods for the order products and for the components.

The following table shows when an order lies within the validity period.

Source of Supply

Validity Criterion for the Order

PPM

Start or end dates/times of selected activities for the order lie within the validity period.

You specify the key activities and activity dates/times at activity level in the PPM.

iPPE process structure

PP/DS runtime object

The start date/time of the first activity for the order lies within the validity period.

External procurement

The associated transportation lane is valid as at the order date/time and the planned delivery time can be adhered to.

Integration

In the detailed scheduling strategy , you can define whether the system should consider the validity period of the order during scheduling or rescheduling.
