 Determination of Supersession Chains

Use

This function determines supersession chains for the rules-based ATP check in the master data for product and location interchangeability (master data for interchangeability).

The following criteria determine the scope of the determined supersession chain :

  • Position of the input product in conjunction with the direction of interchangeabilityof the previous product

Filter for replacement types

  • A substitution with the replacement type One-to-Many Substitutionis part of the supersession chain

Prerequisites

You have made all the settings in the interchangeability master data and in integrated rule maintenance. For more information, see Substitutions from Master Data (With Condition Technique) .

Features

The system determines the scope of the supersession chains using the following criteria:

  • Position of the input product in the supersession chain

    • Input product is the first product in the supersession chain

If the input product is the first product in the supersession chain, the determination of the scope of the supersession chain is not subject to any constraints.

    • Input product is not the first product in the supersession chain

If the input product is not the first product in the supersession chain, the system determines the scope of the supersession chain depending on the direction of the following interchangeability of the previous product:

      • Previous product only forward interchangeable with the input product

The system does not include the previous product in the supersession chain.

      • Previous product fully interchangeable with the input product

The system includes the previous product in the supersession chain.

  • Filter for replacement types

If you have defined a filter for replacement types, the system does not take account of the product substitutions from the supersession chain whose replacement type is contained in the filter.

  • One-to-many substitution is part of the supersession chain

If a substitution of the type One-to-Many Substitutionis part of the supersession chain, the system determines substitute products and their components. The system does not take account of any substitutions for the components.
