 Defining SCC Work Areas

Use

Viewing your entire supply chain at once can be cumbersome. You can limit your view to those supply chain objects you want to concentrate on by defining work areas that can be used as query object pools. A query object pool is a subset of all the supply chain elements in SAP APO that is considered when a query is launched in SCC.

You can launch two types of queries from the SCC. Use APO queries to retrieve detailed information on your supply chain elements such as locations, products, and resources from the APO system. Use KPIs (key performance indicators) for measuring supply chain performance. The APO KPIs express abstract supply chain objectives in financial or physical units for comparative purposes. They are retrieved from the SAP Business Information Warehouse (SAP BW).

A supply chain work area includes objects of the following types:

  • Locations (plant, DC, supplier, customer)

  • Resources (production, storage, handling, transport)

  • Products

  • PPMs (production process models)

  • Transportation lanes (determined by the model you are working in)

    Note Note

SCC considers the PPM and not the associated plan. You must assign at least 1 product to a plan before the corresponding PPM appears in the SCC work area.

    End of the note.
