You can use this business function to use the following enhancements in Demand Planning (DP), Supply Network Planning (SNP), and Capable-to-Match (CTM):

  • Display of application logs in Demand Planning

  • New forecast consumption modes in SAP APO

  • Merging of orders in CTM

  • Threshold for earliness notification in the profile of the explanation tool

  • Freely-definable attributes for planning-version-dependent location products

  • User constraints are available in the SNP Optimizer

Enhancements are available for the following functions and applications in SAP Advanced Planning and Optimization (SAP APO):

Display of Application Logs in Demand Planning

You can display application logs that the system created during execution of the following functions in Demand Planning:

  • Demand Planning in the background (mass processing)

  • Promotion management

  • Proportional factors calculation

For more information, see Display of Application Logs.

If the system creates application logs, you can prevent it from creating additional spool lists.

New Forecast Consumption Modes in SAP APO

The consumption modes in the location product master, on the Demand tab page, Requirement strategy sub tab page, have been enhanced. You can now define that sales orders consume forecasted quantities that lie in the week or month of the requirements date. You can also define your own consumption mode.

Enhancements in Capable-to-Match (CTM)

The following enhancements are available:

  • Merging Orders

    CTM can reduce excess supply resulting from lot size settings and the CTM sort sequence by considering the existing stock before creating additional receipt elements.

  • Threshold for earliness notification in the profile of the explanation tool

    The earliness of an order is the time difference between the order end date and the demand date. If CTM schedules an order with an earliness that is greater than a given threshold, a corresponding message for this order is displayed in the explanations for the CTM planning run.

Freely-Definable Attributes for Planning-Version-Dependent Location Products

You can maintain freely-definable attributes for planning-version-dependent location products. For more information, see Customizing for SCM Basis under Start of the navigation path Master Data Next navigation step Maintain Freely-Definable Attributes End of the navigation path.

User Constraints in SNP Optimizer

This function allows the definition of customer-specific constraints within an SNP optimization model. For more information, see User Constraints in the SNP Optimizer.

Chart Enhancements for Interactive SNP and DP

The chart functions have been enhanced. For more information about the enhancements, see Chart Engine Customizing in Interactive Planning.

Selecting Products for the Transport Load Builder Run

You can create product selections and perform a TLB run for selected products only.
