Update of the Estimated Time of Arrival
If unforeseen events happen to shipments, a supplier can update the delivery date (estimated time of arrival – ETA) of a shipment manually in SAP Supply Network Collaboration (SAP SNC), even after the shipment has been published.
Note
Once the shipment status has the Partial Goods Receipt
or Complete Goods Receipt
status, the supplier cannot update the ETA any more.
Changes to the ETA are the only changes that are allowed for published shipments. If the supplier needs to make other changes, he or she must cancel the shipment first and create a new shipment.
To use this function, you must activate the business function Supply Network Collaboration 1 (SCM_SNC_GEN_1
).
If the supplier updates the ETA and publishes the shipment again, the system automatically republishes the assigned advanced shipping notifications (ASNs). SAP SNC also automatically creates the following alerts for the customer in the alert monitor:
For the shipment: Delivery Date for Shipment Was Changed
For the ASNs that are assigned to the shipment: ASN Delivery Date Overwritten by Shipment
If the customer has integrated SAP SNC with an ERP system, SAP SNC sends the updated shipment and ASN data to the customer's ERP system with the new ETA.
