Production Data Structures (PDS) for CDP and Block Planning Production data structures (PDS) are generated from classic R/3 or iPPE master data, bill of materials, and routings. You can use the PDS as a source of supply for master data if you are using characteristic-dependent planning (CDP) or block planning in SAP APO. You can only display the PDS in SAP APO.
You have specified in the integraion model that you wish to work with production data structures (PDS) in SAP APO.
You do not have to make any special settings to the production data structures for CDP and block planning as is the case for production process models with characteristic propagation. The characteristic value assignment is copied internally from the requirement (such as the sales order) to the CDP-relevant components, if the characteristics are identical.
Example
The characteristic
Length
is assigned to the component. The characteristic
Length
is also contained in the configuration. The characteristic was valuated with
100
. The value
100
is copied to the component.
The characteristic value assignment for the CDP-relevant components is stored in the liveCache and is used for pegging (see Pegging Using Characteristics ).
The system will recognize if a resource is relevant for block planning when generating the PDS. When the sales order is transferred, the system copies the characteristic value from the configuration and schedules the activity in the relevant block.
Example
You have created a routing in the ERP system with the required operations.
In SAP APO, you have defined blocks for the resources that are relevant for block planning.
If the system generates a PDS from the classic master data BOM and routing in SAP APO, the system will recognize the resources that are relevant for block planning.
If a planned order is transferred to SAP APO, the system will assign the block-planned activity to the relevant block using the characteristic value assignment.
BAdI
Enhancements for Exploding the PP/DS Production Data Structure
(
/SAPAPO/CULLRTOEXPL)
You can define characteristic requirements for pegging via the BAdI
Enhancements for Exploding the PP/DS Production Data Structure (/SAPAPO/CULLRTOEXPL)
. You can define a valid value range for a requirement using characteristic requirements; this will allow the system to consume the requirement with the receipts that lie within this value range.
Note
A classification in a class with class type 023 in the ERP system is required for transferring the characteristic requirements to the R/3 system. You display the characteristic requirements as batch selection characteristics in the ERP system. The class with class type 023 must have the same name as the CDP-relevant class with class type 400.
Only activities with type
Produce
are relevant for block planning. You can use method
BLOCK_PLANNING_RELEVANCE
in BAdI
/SAPAPO/CURTO_CREATE
if you wish to use activities with a different type (such as setup operations) for block planning.
In the ERP system (plug-in), choose to transfer a PDS.
