Rescheduling an Operation to an Alternative Resource You can specify several alternative resources for an operation, on which the manufacturing can be carried out. In the resource planning table, you can then reschedule these operations to an alternative resource, in order, for example, to achieve better resource utilization.
At least one alternative mode exists in the production process model or the production data structure.
There are various ways of rescheduling an operation on an alternative resource:
You can invoke the drop-down menu with the operation functions in the operation list and choose
Reschedule on Alt. Resources.
You can use the Pick function to choose operations in the operation list, change the resources in the header data, and schedule the selected operations on the new resource with Drop.
You can copy operations from the operation list ort he periodic view to the clipboard with Drag&Drop or Pick&Drop, choose a new resource, and schedule the operations from the clipboard on the new resource.
Select one or more operations from the operation list and choose
Operation Functions
or invoke the context menu using the right-hand mouse button.
You get a list showing possible functions.
Choose
Reschedule on Alt. Resources.
A dialog box showing the alternative resources appears.
Select the resource on which you wish to reschedule the operations and check the start and end date/times.
If you do not select a resource in the dialog box, the system selects the resource itself. This then corresponds to a rescheduling of the operation.
Set the
Display Alternative Resource
if the changed resource is to be displayed immediately. If you do not select the indicator, the operation is rescheduled on the alternative resource but the original resource continues to be displayed so that further scheduling can take place on it.
Confirm your input.
The operation is rescheduled on the alternative resource.
Select one or more operations in the operation list or select a certain period in the periodic view.
Choose
Pick Operations.
The operations continue to be displayed.
Enter the alternative resource in the header data.
Insert the operation(s) into a certain period or the operation list with Drop.

Select one or more operations in the operation list or select a certain period in the periodic view.
Invoke the clipboard in the navigation area.
Either pull the operations directly to the clipboard using Drag&Drop, or choose the operations with Pick and insert them in the clipboard with Drop.
