Scheduling Using Route Determination

Route determination schedules the transportation activity as part of configurable process scheduling, and defines route information, such as route or transportation service provider, which the system transfers to the application making the call.

If you want to use the SCHEDL_MM_RG procedure, you have to activate the business function SCM-APO-ATP, Usability and Various Functions (SCM_APO_ATP_1).

Integration

The following table shows the systems that you must implement to define master data:

Prerequisites

The routing guide is only called in the following cases:

The system finds the scheduling procedure SCHEDL_ROUTE while executing an availability check for a sales order in SAP CRM or for a delivery in the ERP system.
The system finds the scheduling procedure SCHEDL_MM_RG while executing an availability check for a stock transport order in the ERP system or for a delivery in the ERP system.

For the scheduling procedure SCHEDL_ROUTE, you have made one of the following settings in Customizing:

In Customizing for SAP Supply Chain Management (SAP SCM), you have assigned the scheduling schema SCHEDL_ROUTE to a condition type list that you created.
For more information, see Customizing for SAP SCM under Advanced Planning and Optimization Global Available-to-Promise (Global ATP) Transportation and Shipment Scheduling Scheduling Using Configurable Process Scheduling Assign Schema and Activity to a Determination Procedure .
In Customizing for SAP SCM, you have assigned the item category to the process alias.

Features

The system performs route determination in the routing guide in the background automatically, for example, when an availability check is performed while creating a sales order in SAP CRM.
