Sporadic Test The system performs the sporadic test as part of
automatic model selection
. If the sporadic test is successful, the system selects all forecast strategies that you assigned to the sporadic test in Customizing. For more information, see the IMG for
Advanced Planning and Optimization
under
.
To decide whether the demand of a product is sporadic, the system checks whether the number of zero-demand periods exceeds a specific percentage of the total number of periods.
You can specify the total number of periods that the system considers for the sporadic test in the forecast profile on the
Model Parameter
tab page in the
Initialization Periods for the Intermittent Forecast Model
field. You can specify the number of zero-demand periods on the
Model Selection
tab page in the
Zero Demand Periods in Intermittent Forecast Model
field. The system uses these values to calculate the minimum percentage that the number of zero-demand periods must correspond to for the product to be considered as having sporadic demand.
Example
You have specified 24 as the number of initialization periods for the intermittent forecast model.
You have specified 18 as the number of zero-demand periods.
This gives a percentage of 75%.
In this case, at least 75% of the total demand periods of a product must be zero-demand periods so that the sporadic test for this product is successful.
If you have not specified a value in one or both of the
Initialization Periods for the Intermittent Forecast Model
or
Zero Demand Periods in Intermittent Forecast Model
fields, the system uses 66% as the percentage. In this case, at least 66 % of the total demand periods of a product must be zero-demand periods so that the sporadic test for this product is successful.
To replace the sporadic test with a test you have defined yourself, you can implement the Business Add-In (BAdI)
BAdI: Modify Sporadic Test
