You can use this function to release customer forecasts to Demand Planning after running an analysis on the data and making the necessary adjustments to it in Customer Forecast Management.

Prerequisites

  • You have defined InfoCubes and key figures under Basic Settings in Customizing. For more information, see Customizing for Demand Planning under Start of the navigation path Customer Forecast Management Next navigation step Define Profiles and Settings for Customer Forecast Management End of the navigation path.

  • You have defined a forecast release profile in Customizing. For more information, see Forecast Release Profile.

Features

  • Manual or automatic release of forecast data

  • Release of forecast data to targets other than Demand Planning

    Besides Demand Planning, you can also release the data to other applications, for example to APO Supply Network Planning or SAP ERP Demand Management by implementing a Business Add-In in Customizing. Activities

You can release the customer forecast data in either of the following ways:

  • You schedule an automatic forecast release run. You can specify the parameters for the run on the SAP Easy Access screen under Start of the navigation path Advanced Planning and Optimization Next navigation step Demand Planning Next navigation step Planning Next navigation step Customer Forecast Management Next navigation step Forecast Release Run End of the navigation path.

  • You manually approve the forecasts on the Customer Forecast Management screen, and thus trigger a release of the data to the DP planning area defined in the forecast release profile. After releasing the data, the system automatically deletes the relevant forecasts from the worklist. You can access the Customer Forecast Management screen in SAP NetWeaver Business Client, under Start of the navigation path Customer Forecast Management Next navigation step CFM POWL End of the navigation path or on the SAP Easy Access screen under Start of the navigation path Advanced Planning and Optimization Next navigation step Demand Planning Next navigation step Planning Next navigation step Customer Forecast Management Next navigation step Customer Forecast Management End of the navigation path.
