Function documentationMaintaining Transportation Lanes in the Supply Network

You can create data for transportation lanes for the delivery network and define some as time-dependent. For example, you can define procurement cycles whose validity is shorter than that of the transportation lane and only covers the duration of a sales promotion.

Integration

  • Transportation lanes contain important parameters for the relationship between source and target location, for example, procurement cycles for determination of the ordering and delivery dates or rounding rules.

  • If you have specified a parameter (for example, the procurement cycle) in both processing transactions for transportation lanes (subranges and products), the system gives the highest priority to the parameter from the transportation lane for products.

  • You can change the time-dependent data for transportation lanes (as well as the time-dependent data of location products or of transportation lanes for subranges), using an interface import or by maintaining the transportation lane.

  • The scheduling calculates order dates and delivery dates with reference to the transportation lane. It evaluates the time-dependent data of the transportation lanes to determine the planned delivery time and the procurement cycle.

Prerequisites

  • You have imported transportation lanes from a connected system (such as SAP Retail) through the interface.

  • In Customizing of the time-dependent fields, you have used the similarly-named indicator to define which attributes of the transportation lanes the system is to use time-dependently. You can use the following fields time-dependently:

    • Procurement cycle (PROCYC)

    • Planned delivery time (PLIFZ)

    • Procurement priority (SPRIO)

With this indicator, you can temporarily assign a higher priority to one transportation lane.

    • Activation indicator (BZQ_ACTIVE)

With this indicator, you can temporarily lock or activate a transportation lane.

    Note Note

The flags for procurement priority and activation have an immediate effect on source determination.

    End of the note.

Features

  • You an assign a validity period to a transportation lane and maintain it for one of the following data combinations:

    • For a transportation lane for products:

Source location, destination location, and product

    • For a transportation lane for subranges:

Source location, destination location, destination location type, subrange of source location, and replenishment planner

The destination location and subrange are optional. If they are not specified, then the transportation lane is valid for all target locations and subranges.

  • You can delete time-dependent transportation lane data whose validity has expired:

    • Transportation lanes for products: with report /FRE/DB_REORG_LANE_TD.

    • Transportation lanes for subranges: with report /FRE/DB_REORG_TRPROD2_TD.
