Delivery Date/Time Correlation in the Consolidation Location

Use

You can use this function to deliver all products that have been transferred to a consolidation location to a customer on one date.

Prerequisites

Features

The system can perform the delivery date/time correlation in one of two ways:

  • Simple correlation

The system determines a common unloading date for all products in the consolidation location. This common unloading date can lead to dates that have already been confirmed in the source locations being changed. When it performs a simple correlation, the system does not check whether the new dates/times in the sources locations are still valid.

  • Correlation with Second Check Step

The system performs the delivery date/time correlation in the same ways as for a simple correlation. In addition, the system checks if the new dates/times in the source locations are valid.

Activities

The system activities depend on whether a simple correlation or a correlation with second check step takes place.

Simple Correlation

The system determines the unloading date for all confirmations in the consolidation location. The system correlates the unloading dates to determine a common unloading date; the latest unloading date is the common unloading date. Based on the common unloading date, the system performs backward scheduling to determine the new material availability dates in the sources locations. .

When it performs a simple delivery date/time correlation, the system does not check if the new material availability dates in the source locations are still valid. If the new material availability date differs from the original date, the new material availability date might be outside the validity periods of a location product.

Correlation with Second Check Step

The system performs the delivery date/time correlation in the same ways as for a simple correlation. In a second check step, however, the system also checks whether the dates resulting from backward scheduling are still valid in the source locations. The system checks if the products are available on the new material availability date. The system removes all confirmed schedule lines for a date that is no longer valid. To obtain more confirmations, the system evaluates new rules and checks the availability for the resulting substitute location products.
