Procedimiento Specifying a Period for Data Storage Localizar documento en árbol de navegación

Use

To limit the memory requirement, you can specify a period for which the data records in the CATS notebook data store are available. During the next synchronization, SAP R/3 then removes all data records from the CATS notebook data store that are no longer required.

You do not enter dates to specify the period for data storage; instead, you enter the period as the number of days before the synchronization date. The actual period, therefore, changes dynamically with each synchronization.

Ejemplo

Before you install and synchronize CATS notebook for the first time, you specify that the data storage period is 100 days counting back from the date of synchronization.

If you use this setting and install CATS notebook on May 1, 2002 and run the first synchronization that day, SAP R/3 transfers all data records to the CATS notebook data store that were entered between January 21, 2002, and December 31, 9999.

If you use this setting and run a synchronization on May 8, 2002, SAP R/3 removes all data records from the CATS notebook data store that were entered before January 28, 2002. At the same time, SAP R/3 synchronizes all data records entered between January 28, 2002, and December 12, 9999.

Atención

If, after the first synchronization, you were to extend the period specified in the example to 121 days and run another synchronization, SAP R/3 would not subsequently transfer to the CATS notebook data store the data records entered between January 1, 2002, and December 31, 9999. If you wanted additional records to be transferred, you would have to reset the CATS notebook data store and run another, complete synchronization.

Procedure

  1. From the SAP Easy Access screen in SAP R/3, choose: System ® Services ® Table maintenance ® Extended table maintenance.
  2. Enter the table name CATS_MY_DATES.
  3. Choose Maintain.
  4. For each data entry profile, enter in the Data Storage (Past) field the number of days in the past for which you want the data records to be available in the CATS notebook data store.
  5. Save your entries.
