Features

The iView  Working Time: Check Completeness (CATS calendar), is one of several iViews available for the Cross-Application Time Sheet (CATS). It is aimed at employees who have irregular access to the Cross-Application Time Sheet to record their working times and activities. These employees can use the iView to see at a glance the days for which they still have to record working times and activities. The iView uses the function of the SAP R/3 application Time Sheet: Time Leveling (RCATSCMP) to display the information.

Each calendar day has a particular status in relation to the recording of working times and activities. The iView displays one or more months in the form of a calendar. The status of each calendar day is color coded. You can have the following statuses displayed:

·        No working time recorded

·        Insufficient working time recorded

·        Too much working time recorded

·        Non-working day

You can customize the colors for each status to meet your requirements. Users can check the meaning of the colors in the iView by calling a legend.

Integration

To record working times, click on the calendar. CATS regular, the Employee Self-Service application of the Cross-Application Time Sheet, appears automatically for you to record and correct your working times.

Prerequisites

You use the Cross-Application Time Sheet (CA-TS) component in SAP R/3.

If you want to be able to record your working times from the iView, you must have set up CATS regular, the employee self-service application for the Cross-Application Time Sheet.

The iView is based on the functions of the SAP R/3 application Time Sheet: Time Leveling (RCATSCMP). The information displayed in the iView depends on the settings you make in the ALERT variant of the RCATSCMP program. The ALERT variant is in the customer namespace and is not overwritten by SAP.

You must create the ALERT variant and ensure that it contains the settings you require. The settings in the Time Sheet Selection screen area are particularly important. This is where you determine which status information you want the iView to display. The following settings are, however, not relevant to the iView:

·        The personnel number selection; the iView evaluates the working time data of one employee only. The iView (as other iViews in Human Resources) uses the user name and settings in the Communication infotype (0105), subtype System User SAP System (SY-NAME) (0001) to determine the employee.

·        Period selection; you enter the period to be evaluated in the user interface of the iView.

·        Entries in the Profile field in the Time Settings and Target Hours areas

Employees who want to use this iView must have the following authorizations in SAP R/3:

·        Read authorization for the following infotypes:

ˇ        Actions (0000)

ˇ        Organizational Assignment (0001)

ˇ        Personal Data (0002)

ˇ        Planned Working Time (0007)

ˇ        Time Sheet Defaults (0315)

·        The authorizations required for CATS regular, the employee self-service application of the Cross-Application Time Sheet.

You use Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5.

Optional Settings

You can specify the data entry profile you want the iView to use when the CATS regular employee self-service application is run. To specify the data entry profile, enter it as a value of the CVR user parameter (CATS: Variant for Time Recording) in SAP R/3. If you do not specify a data entry profile, the system uses the standard ESS profile (Employee Self-Service).

You can specify in the data entry profile the day of the week on which you want the displayed period to begin. To do so, enter the required value in the First Day of Week field.

You can make the following settings in the default.properties file that is delivered with the iView:

Parameter

Meaning

Possible Values

Value in the Standard System

_COLCOUNT.value

Number of consecutive months displayed horizontally

Numerical values

1

_ROWCOUNT.value

Number of consecutive months displayed vertically

Numerical values

1

_COLORDAYFREE.value

Numerical values 1 through 4 define the color.

If the value is less than 0 or greater than 4, the iView displays no color.

If there is no parameter or value, the iView uses a standard color.

_COLORNOTIME.value

Color of days for which no working time was recorded

4

_COLORTOOLESS.value

Color of days for which insufficient working time was recorded

2

_COLORTOOMUCH.value

Nota

The colors and their meanings that are displayed in the legend of the iView depend on the settings you make in the ALERT variant of the RCATSCMP program.
