The user interface includes a function for synchronizing data. It is responsible for bringing data in CATS notebook and in SAP R/3 into line.

The synchronization consists of the following subprocesses:
The graphic below shows an entire business process with CATS notebook and SAP R/3, from creating the working time attribute through to supplying data to the target components. The data is synchronized four times in the course of the example.
Please note that the example is complex and represents the entire process. All the user has to do is trigger one synchronization (SYNC 3 in the diagram), since all required information is always exchanged between CATS notebook and SAP R/3 in the course of the synchronization. You do not have to trigger a special synchronization for new working time attributes (see
