Changing User Interface Texts in CATS notebook

Use

The user interface texts in CATS notebook originate partly from the CATSDB database table in SAP R/3.

These user interface texts are stored in the offline repository of CATS notebook in the CATS_MY_TABLE_FIELD_TEXTS table. The CATS_MY_TABLE_FIELD_TEXTS table is defined in the time_tables.xml file and has the following fields:

FIELDNAME (Field name)
DD_TEXT (Explanatory short text)
TITLE (Header)
TEXT_SHORT (Short field label)
TEXT_MEDIUM (Mid-length field label)
TEXT_LONG (Long field label)

Nota

If you have created customer-specific fields in the CATSDB database table, the short texts and field labels of the data elements are also stored as user interface texts in the CATS_MY_TABLE_FIELD_TEXTS table.

Additional field labels and short texts for CATS notebook are in the SAP database table, CATS_MY_FIXTEXTS.

Activities

You can use the customer database table CATS_MY_TEXTS_C to adapt user interface texts. If you want to change a user interface text that is in the CATSDB or CATS_MY_FIXTEXTS table, you only have to add the relevant entry to the CATS_MY_TEXTS_C table. The system processes the CATS_MY_TEXTS_C table before the SAP standard texts.

Nota

You can also enter texts into the CATS_MY_TEXTS_C table that are not in the CATSDB or CATS_MY_FIXTEXTS tables. These texts are not displayed in CATS notebook, but are available offline if you want to use them in customer enhancements, for example.
