The getReferenceColumnId method of the IColumnModelCustomer interface specifies the position of the column for customer-specific texts on the data entry screen. It must return the field name of the column in which you want to display explanatory texts.

Choose names for the column that are analogous to the field names in the CATSDB table in SAP R/3, such as RPROJ for the column that displays WBS elements, for example.

If the return value of the getReferenceColumnId method is zero, the system displays the column for customer-specific texts as the first column in the data entry area of CATS notebook.
