Release of Data

Use

The user interface includes the following functions for releasing data:

Release (for individual rows of the data entry area)

Release Period (for all rows of the period displayed)

The release of data in CATS notebook – as in other CATS user interfaces – is controlled using the data entry profile. In the data entry profile, you can configure the release of data so that:

Data is released automatically when it is saved
Data is not released until the user chooses the release function
Released data is subject to an approval process in SAP R/3

You can check the release status of a data record in the detail view.

Integration

When you release data, CATS notebook automatically:

Checks the data

Note: CATS notebook transfers all data records to SAP R/3 during the next synchronization, including records that you have not released. Unreleased records are not, however, transferred to the target components.

Prerequisites

You have set up the Cross-Application Time Sheet in SAP R/3 and you have made settings for the release of data in the data entry profiles used for CATS notebook. For more information, see Setting Up the Cross-Application Time Sheet in SAP R/3.

Activities

Releasing individual rows

Select the relevant rows.

Choose Release.

CATS notebook saves all unsaved data and releases the data records in the rows selected.

Releasing all rows of the period displayed

Choose Release Period.
