Features

Nota

This application has prototype status. If you want to implement this application, we can release it for test purposes. For more information, see SAP Note 339247.

This WAP application enables your employees to record their current tasks or working times immediately using a WAP-enabled cell phone. It is primarily an enhancement for entering and post processing working times using CATS regular or CATS classic.

The functions are aimed primarily at users who have to record billable tasks. It is important that these users can record the time they have spent on individual tasks accurately, and at several times during the day, if necessary. This WAP application enables users to record their working times easily and quickly.

Employees receive a worklist for recording tasks from which they can choose their account assignment object. However, unlike with the other user interfaces of the Time Sheet, you cannot record all account assignment objects with this WAP application. The following objects are available for the WAP application:

·        Receiver cost object

·        Network with operation/suboperation

·        Internal order

·        Receiver order with operation/suboperation

·        Receiver sales order

·        Receiver business process

·        Receiver WBS element

·        Receiver cost center

Employees can only select one account assignment object. They cannot assign two objects (for example, network and receiving cost center). If one row in the worklist contains more than one account assignment object, the system only selects one object. The system selects objects in the order shown above. In addition to account assignment objects, employees can also specify an activity type.

Employees can enter information for Time Management in the attendance/absence type entry. They can also simply use this WAP application as a time recording system without the worklist.

When entering worked hours, employees can use the input help or enter their hours manually.

Integration

·        Employees must use CATS regular or CATS classic if they want to post process data or release data they have already entered.

·        If your employees only want to record their time worked and no account assignment information, you can also use the Clock-In/Clock-Out WAP application. This enables employees to post their start and end times, off-site work, and breaks for a given date.

For more information, see the Clock-In/Clock-Out section on the WAP application.

Prerequisites

·        Employees who are to use this WAP application must have access to a WAP-enabled cell phone.

·        The minimum technical requirements for running the WAP application include mySAP Workplace Release 2.11, ITS 4.6D Compilation 3, a WAP Gateway, and a Web Add-On 1.00 installation.

·        A personnel number and a mini-master record must have been created in the Time Management system for each employee for which tasks and working times are to be recorded in the Time Sheet.

·        All employees’ personnel numbers must be linked with the relevant user names in the Communication (0105) infotype. Create this link using the subtype / Communication Type 0001 (System User SAP System (SY_UNAME)).

·        You have set up Customizing for the Time Sheet. In this WAP application, you can only specify attendance/absence types and activity types, therefore only this data is taken into account for field selection.

·        You must use the CVR user parameter to determine with which data entry profile the WAP application should be started. You must determine the data entry profile for each employee. If there is no entry in the user parameter, the WAP application is automatically started with the standard data entry profile for ESS.

Optional Settings

You can use the following SAP enhancements to tailor the worklist to suit your requirements.

·         CATS0001 (Compile Worklist)

·         CATS0003 (Validate Recorded Data)

·         CAWAO_TS (Format Text in Worklist)

·         CATS0010 (Customer-Specific Text Fields in Worklist)

For more information, see the documentation on SAP enhancements.
