Purpose

If quality inspections are carried out during the manufacturing process, production and inspection operations are often very closely linked with each other. For this reason, the master recipe in the R/3 System also acts as an inspection plan for inspections during production. This means that the team in quality management (QM) completes the master planning data with a number of inspection specifications. This section describes how you enter these inspection specifications for the routing.

Prerequisites

The following data already exists in the system:

Process flow

  1. With the QM data in the header you decide:
  2. – Whether the inspection is carried out using inspection points or not.

    – Whether the inspection scope is modified dynamically and at which level it is to take place

According to your decision you enter further data for inspection scope processing and dynamic modification.

  3. With the QM data in the operations you decide:
  4. – Which view is called up first when you confirm inspection results

    – How long the inspection interval between inspection points is

    – Whether the last partial lot assignment takes place during results recording for the operation (optional)

  5. You create the inspection characteristics to be checked in the respective process step for the operations and phases of your routing. For each characteristic, you specify the following:
  6. – Which sampling procedure is to be used

    – Whether test equipment is to be assigned to the characteristic for the inspection

    – Which dynamic modification rule is to be used, provided that you have specified in the header that dynamic modification is to take place at characteristic level

  7. If you need test equipment to carry out the inspection, you check whether it has been maintained as production resources/tools (PRT) in the system. If necessary, you add the missing master records.
  8. The PRT category you use depends on the business function of the production resource/tool (for example, PRT category "material" for production resources/tools you want to take into account in inventory management).

  9. You assign the production resources/tools to the operations of your routing for which they are required as test equipment.
  10. You assign the production resources/tools of the operations to the inspection characteristics for which they are required as test equipment.

If you have assigned more than one header material to your routing, you can assign different PRTs for each header material.
