Save Layout

Use

You can save the layout variants as user-related or for general use. Saving has the following advantages:

You can save special settings for different operations. Choosing the layout variant ensures that the document list contains the correct document information for the current task, for example, using filter values or sort settings.

For recurring operations you can save a layout variant, and save it as a presetting. This allows the contents of the document list to be tailored quickly and easily for a recurring task.

When you save a layout variant, you can determine its use dependent of your authorization profile:

Property	Use
User-specific	Only the user who has saved the layout variant can use it.
Cross-user	All users can use the layout variants.

Authorization Checks

The authorization checks take place dependent on the selected use:

User-Specific Layout

No authorization check takes place for a user-specific layout. Each user can maintain unlimited user-specific layouts, and determine a layout as a presetting.

Cross-User Layout

An authorization check takes place for the maintenance of a cross-user layout for the authorization object S_ALV_LAYO (ALV standard layout). The user needs to have the value 23 for the Activity.

Procedure

After you have completed the settings on the tab page for the layout (for example, Column Selection, Sorting), choose Save Layout.
