Use

Use this procedure to carry out availability checks for several networks at once, to see if all the necessary components are available.

Collective availability checks are started in the Project Information System from the individual overview for networks.

Procedure

  1. Choose Information systems ® Project System ® Structures ® Individual overviews ® Networks.
  2. Enter the PS info profile, as necessary. The initial screen for the information system appears.

  3. Enter the selection criteria and choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text. You enter the required networks directly or select them via the project definition or WBS elements.
  4. The individual overview for networks appears.

  5. In the information system only a few general functions are displayed as icons. By choosing This graphic is explained in the accompanying text you can display the functions you require. If the availability check is not displayed as This graphic is explained in the accompanying text , choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.
  6. The Choose functions dialog box appears, on which you see the available functions on the left and the functions that are already displayed on the right.

  7. Drag and drop Check availability and Log of available material to the right-hand side and then choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Copy.
  8. The functions Check availability and Log of available material are now displayed under This graphic is explained in the accompanying text .

  9. Use This graphic is explained in the accompanying text to select all the networks, or expand the structure and use CTRL to select individual networks or SHIFT to select blocks of networks.
  10. Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Check availability.
  11. The Collective availability check dialog screen appears. Here the indicators Reset availability data and Execute availability check are set as defaults. If, for instance, you only want to reset the availability data, cancel the second indicator. By choosing This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Mode you go to another window in which you can determine what type of check is carried out and which messages the system should write in the log.

  12. Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.

Result

The system executes the availability check for the selected networks and saves the dates it determines automatically. You can call up the log by choosing This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Log of available material.
