Funds Management account assignment (FM account assignment) intended for budget postings in the budget control system. The budget address is an element of the budget structure.

Use

You define which account assignments are intended for managing or consuming the budget from all possible FM account assignments of an FM area. This way you can map organizational distribution of funds for budget planning and budget execution according to function by using budget addresses. Budget addresses should be regarded as additional FM master data, in addition to FM account assignment elements of Funds Management. A budget address can also be a posting address.

Budget addresses are managed in the FM area/fiscal year for each budget category and for each budget structure key. As a budget structure is year-dependent, the budget addresses it contains are also year-dependent. Budget addresses can be copied in to the following fiscal year by using the Copy Program.

With each budget posting in an FM area/fiscal year, the system checks whether the corresponding FM account assignment specified is defined as a budget posting. You can activate/deactivate the budget address check for exceptional situations in Customizing by setting/removing the indicator Budget Address Check. Note that it is not advisable to deactivate this check if you work with budget addresses.

You activate or deactivate the budget address check in the menu of Funds Management, under Budgeting ® Budget Control System (BCS) ® Status ® Assign Status to a Version.
