Cost Center Report
Use
This report has two differing input screens, depending on the authorizations that are set within your system and your role within your organization. These are: Cost Center Report – Manager and Cost Center Report - Administrator.
Cost center managers can use this report to:
- View the charges incurred on their cost centers
- Get an overview of an average cost incurred per employee in their cost center
- Cost planning
- Initiate investigations if they find a discrepancy in the regular payments made to employees or a specific employee.
For more information, see
Running the Cost Center Report (Cost Center Manager).
Payroll administrators can use this report to:
- Reconcile the FI postings with the payroll results.
- Investigate an employee’s payroll data in order to determine a cause of imbalance in payments.
For more information, see
Running the Cost Center Report (Administrator).
Integration
The Payroll Administrator can run the report on a periodic basis (especially during year-end) to balance the FI postings with the Audit report (Canada) or the Reconciliation report (U.S.).
Prerequisites
The Payroll Administrator must first configure the following in order for a Cost Center Manager to use the report:
- Master Data: The Communications infotype (0105), subtype 0001 (System User Name) must be set up for each Cost Center Manager in order that they can access their cost center information.
- Table T596* has to be customized to create a new Wage Type Application group for the Cost Center Managers. This is important as the Cost Center Managers should not be able to view certain wage components of the employees (for example, Garnishments). For more information on customizing wage type applications, refer to documentation of the Reconciliation report or the Audit report.
- Payroll posting must have been completed before you can view the results of the report.
- The Payroll Administrator must have configured the feature 10CCM. This enables cost center managers to access and analyze data for their cost centers. To configure this feature, see the Payroll USA Implementation Guide: Reporting ®
Cost Center Report ®
Configure feature 10CCM.
