Posting Address
Definition
Funds Management account assignment (FM account assignment) intended for actual and commitment postings in the budget control system. A posting address is an element of the budget structure.
Use
You define which account assignments are intended for actual and commitment postings from all possible FM account assignments of a FM area. In this way, you can regulate the availability of budget in your organization using posting addresses. In addition to the FM account assignment elements of Funds Management, posting addresses are regarded as additional master data. A posting address can be a budget address simultaneously.
Posting addresses are managed in the FM area/fiscal year per budget category and posting ledger without the entry of a budget structure key. Posting addresses are year-dependent and must be created again for each fiscal year. The existing posting addresses of the previous year can be copied to the following year using a
copying program.For each actual/commitment posting that you make in a FM area/fiscal year it is checked whether the FM account assignment entered is defined as a posting address. You can activate/deactivate the posting address check for exceptional situations in Customizing by setting/removing the indicator Posting Address Check Note that it is not advisable to deactivate this check if you work with posting addresses.
You activate/deactivate the posting address check in Customizing of Funds Management under Master Data ® Budget Structure for Budget Control System (BCS) ® Define Settings for the Budget Structure.
