Editing Engineering Data

Use

The product designer provides processing options for engineering data that are of particular importance in the early phase of product development. By changing product information in a central place, adapting it to new requirements, you ensure that your employees have access to current product information. You minimize the change workload and reduce both sources of errors and duplicated work.

You are displaying the object-specific page of an iPPE object.

Procedure

The following overview lists the processes for changing engineering data.

Process	Use
Editing the Status	You change the status of a component variant or engineering node.
Assigning Values to Characteristics	You assign values to the characteristics of a structure node or a component variant.
Creating and Assigning a Document	You create new document and assign it to an iPPE object. You assign an iPPE object to an existing document.
Displaying and Editing Assigned Documents	You display the documents that are assigned to an iPPE object.
Executing WebFlow Functions	You can process your workflow inbox and execute individual workflow tasks.
Editing Documents with a WAS-Based Application	On the object-specific page of a document, you can use a link to call the functions of WebDocuments. WebDocuments provides a whole range of processing options for documents that are maintained in R/3 document management (SAP application component CA-DMS).
