Rule for limits
Definition
Rule that shows the wage types from which the limit for a specified interval should be created and the extent to which the amount of a wage type should be included in the limit.
Use
When you want the limit to be calculated depending on the amount of one or several wage types, you can specify a rule for limits. In this rule you can specify the required wage tyes, and determine whether the wage type amount should be included in the limit in full or in part.
The system always determines the amount, which is created by the rule, for the current payroll period. If the limit is valid for a longer period, the system also takes into account values from the previous period.
You can create rules for limits in Customizing for Payroll under Deductions ® Limits on Deductions. Here you can also specify the percentage with which the wage type amount should be included in the limit.
Example
The monthly deductions for an employee should not be greater than 2% of the total gross amount (wage type /101). You can create the following rule for limits with the name ABCD:

You can assign a sequence number if you want the rule for limits to apply to several wage types. The processing flag PF controls whether the wage type amounts should be added or subtracted.
