Syntax

<column_descriptor> ::= <valCOLUMN_NAME> <field_pos> <format_spec>

valCOLUMN_NAME

Column name
Specify it according to the SQL conventions. It can also contain the table name as a prefix (for example, CUSTOMER.CNO).

The columns can be assigned special values (date, time, timestamp, Boolean values) and NULL or default values can be loaded.

Use

This is a syntax rule for describing columns.

You use it in a command for loading data to assign a data field in the source file to a column in the target table. To do this, you specify the column name, the position, and the data type of the data in the source file.
