Use

The totals record display is primarily used to check the values that appear in other reports. The system displays the records as they are stored in the database.

All the data reflected in Profit Center Accounting is stored in the totals record table GLPCT. This table contains data which is summarized according to certain characteristics and forms the basis for all reports defined with the Report Writer or the Report Painter (regardless of whether or not you choose to store line items). The individual postings are summarized according to the following characteristics:

Activities

With the function Information system ® Reports for Profit Center Accounting ® Special functions ® Profit center: Totals records, you can display selected totals records. On the overview of the selected totals records, the following functions are available:

Edit ® Choose

Display the document for the current period.

Edit ® Sequence...

Select new criteria for displaying documents and to create a user table.

Edit ® Select block

Select a block of documents, for example, to suppress the documents.

Edit ® Suppress block

Suppress a block of selected documents.

Edit ® Display block

Display a block of suppressed documents.

Extras ® Field left

Move the screen one characteristic to the left.

Extras ® Field right

Move the screen one characteristic to the right.

Extras ® Page left

Move the screen one full page to the left.

Extras ® Page right

Move the screen one full page to the right.

 

Displaying periods

From this overview, you can display an individual totals record broken down by periods. To do so, double-click on the desired line, or position the cursor there and choose Edit ® Choose. On the period screen, the following functions are available:

Display the document lines for the period.

Goto ® Display quantities

Display quantities for a period.

Goto ® Accumulated amount

Display the accumulated amount for a period.

Goto ® Disp. previous record

Display period information for the previous totals record.

Goto ® Display next record

Display period information for the next totals record.

Displaying line items

From the period screen, you can display the line items for a single period by double-clicking or by positioning the cursor and choosing Edit ® Choose.
