Object documentation Layout Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Definition

A layout is a form that determines the layout of screens for entering data.

Use

In Profit Center Accounting, layouts are required for the following functions:

·         Manual entry of

-              actual data

-              statistical key figures

·         Manual planning of

-              costs and revenues

-              balance sheet items

-              statistical key figures

Structure

All planning layouts have the following basic structure:

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text

The header (headings) of the layout contains a number of text lines that describe the object(s) that can be planned using this layout. These contain the characteristics that were specified in the General data selection of the layout.

The lead columns contain the dimensions that you plan. You can define several lead columns. You create lead columns using SAP characteristics, such as profit center or account.

The value columns are where you enter your data. In other words, this is where you enter the actual or plan values.

A value column can contain any of the following:

·        characteristics

·        attributes

·        formulas

You define the three areas of a layout in Customizing for Profit Center Accounting.

·         Actual Data and statistical key figures: Actual Postings ® Manual Entry using a Layout

·         Plan data: Planning ® Manual Planning

Note

Once you have defined a layout, you can only change it in Customizing. It is no longer possible for you to change the layout from the application - that is, when entering values.
